As of 1 October 2026, Romania has introduced TollRo, a new distance-based tolling system for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. 


As decided by the Romanian authorities, customers operating these vehicles in Romania must, for the time being, arrange and pay for TollRo themselves, using their own payment method via the official TollRo application.
