The operation of Portuguese highways is shared by several dealers. They are all part of the APCAP (Associação Portuguesa das Sociedades Concessionárias de Auto-Estradas ou Pontes com Portagens) group. 
In Portugal, the toll system is “closed”, so you will find a gate at the entrance and at the exit. But the dealers also use a toll system with overhead gantries at highways (there are no more gates to cross, your badge is detected automatically). 
In case you have to cross a toll gate, lanes are reserved for toll payment tag badge owners, offered by AS 24 in partnership with the Portuguese dealer.
